I never realized that wearing a hat was about being cool. To me its always been about function. It keeps the sun out of your eyes and protects your face.
There seem to be a lot of judgmental people on here.
My young adult sons and my husband wear baseball caps and have for years. I have no idea how many they each own but it's a lot.
Baseball caps shade their head and face, help prevent glare, prevent sweat from dripping in their eyes, etc. There are lots of practical reasons to wear them.
I agree, OP. It seems to be the trend for some men to dress like 10 year olds. Baseball hats, sneakers, sports jerseys.
While I wear sneakers, I agree with your general premise. Baseball caps, sports jerseys, etc come across as childish.
That being said, I'm not judging. Merely offering my opinion. You do you. It's fine by me if a grown man wears baseball caps. But you won't catch me in one (or at least, you'll hardly ever catch me in one).
I have no opinion one way or the other, I think they are fine. I don't consider them cool or not cool, they are just an addition to their apparel. I occasionally wear one from a friend that says, "Illl bring the Wine". I really don't care what people think.
Not sure about cool .... but likely to be prematurely bald.
LOL. I tried to tell DH that observers would think he's bald when he wears one. He has a full head of lovely hair but likes to smash it down with a stupid baseball cap.
Oh well, his choice. He hates glare on his glasses so says the cap helps.
Some are worse than others. There's seed caps, feed caps, "gimme" hats and on and on....
