Mizz and mule, you guys are sounding very ignorant.
I'm a woman and taking offense to what you guys are saying. You obviously don't know what it's like to have to carry all of your belongings with you for an extended period of time. People who don't have a car or choose to use a bike HAVE to carry some sort of bag whether its for a computer, or a change of clothes, or just a pair of shoes.

Maybe in Chicago it is acceptable and you see it everyday, but I am not in Chicago (THANK GOD above)and here it is still seen as an oddity....so HOW does that make me ignorant and YOU a genius?
Thankfully the U.S. doesn't still follow L.A.,Chicago and NYC "trends".

It doesn't make me a genius. It just makes me realize that you don't think about the REASONS men or anyone else might need to carry a bag. Instead you're just throwing around "omg gay!" It's not a "trend" it's a "necessity" for some people.

A "neccessity" for a guy to carry a purse?? That's total BS.
I can see a pencil pusher carrying a backpack or a briefcase, but a purse? That's just metrosexual no matter HOW much you reach in trying to justify it.
I carry a wallet ,pocket knife, multitool, tons of change and sometimes pliers and fencing tools and a pistol in a pair of jeans...NOT a purse tho

Mule - if you actually read the title of the thread, it says backpacks and man purses, which i guess some people include messenger bags under that title. So I guess everyone carrying backpacks or messenger bags are either trendy or gay.
Please give up your car for a day, walk to work and think about how you're going to carry everything you might need for the day and then get back to me.

WALK!!!!! ...what is this walking you speak of
Hell,I ride a 4wheeler to the mailbox and it's just a ways up the road,so I doubt I could walk the ten miles to work.
