Someone got bit at the Christ of the Ozarks monument in Eureka Springs last weekend. I thought they said it was a rattlesnake but I dont remember those being around Arkansas.

I killed water moccasins all the time around my house when i was a kid.

....nice seeing your post here....take care!

heck I didn't get close enough to it, I trusted my grandson in law cause he has lived here his whole life. It is still there so I will check. Besides I had drank so much wine I wouldn't have been able to tell anyway. Tonight I am behaving myself.

The company we use to spray out house every 3 months always leave these little triangle sticky things around, you know sorta like fly paper. Well he got stuck in it. We have had a few baby black snakes get stuck before. These traps are meant to get any roaches or whatever that are still hanging out, not snakes.

Some reading on snakes in Arkansas...

Herps of Arkansas: HomePage

We found 2 baby Copperheads while we were out on the property doing the clearing. As we prepared to deal with them, our neice pipes up with, "but they're only babies!".

We have 2 free spirited young boys who love our safe garter snakes of Michigan.. I'm am VERY worried what trouble they could get in when we relocate down there.

Here is a photo of a Copperhead, see how easy it would be to step on one if your not watching where you're walking.
