Of course, there's still the rest of January, February, and March to make up for the deficit ... but as I said before, I'm not holding my breath.

The NWS predicted above normal precipitation for the SW last fall, and we hardly got anything. They're still predicting above normal precipitation for January, and the rest of the winter ... but so far, it's turning out to be another dud of a winter, and that won't be good news for the forests later this spring & summer when the fire season gets underway. The last three storm systems have produced less precipitation than originally predicted. So much for the wonderful NWS and their precipitation forecasts. They're about as trustworthy as a used car salesman! The funny thing is their predictions for sunshine, dry weather, and extreme temperatures always seem to come true, but they are way off on their precipitation outlooks.
Haha! I am sucking wind on that prediction for sure. It feels like April outside today. Beautiful , but I am having a hard time enjoying it, when all these lovely trees need snow, snow, snow!

You are right. If you were to predict sunshine and dry weather, you'd be right 80% of the time here, it seems.

Shame that this winter is turning out to be pretty dry. The weather may be beautiful, but it just means it'll be DRY (read: fire hazard) come summer.

Slow, steady rain today. Kind of odd for January in Flagstaff.

Agreed. It feels more like Oregon than N. Arizona.

The weather has been like Spring here in southwest Oregon. We need a lot more rain though.

Yep. I have a hard time enjoying all the good weather in midwinter. A week here and there, sure. Months of it bums me out. I can't stop thinking about the fire season to come. That applies on both N. Arizona and S. Oregon. They say it is going to be in the 60s in Flagstaff next week. Bleh! I want winter!

Well, it's pretty Spring-like so far this February. If memory serves, last February was like this too.

Judging by all the sneezing, the trees are starting to pollinate. Plus with the strong winds yesterday, feeling a lot like April.
