thankyou for your comments Tall Traveler. We are in NE Oklahoma, people move here and are surprised by how windy it is. We know about wind, tornados, large hail, lightning, flooding, ice storms that topple trees and wild fires. Triple digit heat is not rare in summer with high humidity and although we generally don't get a lot of snow, I can remember several 12" snows and one period 8-9 years ago that I had to shovel 3 1/2 feet of snow that had slid off of the roof blocking my bird dog kennels. We have everything except volcanos ( yes, earthquakes too, but not so much here) and it is still a great place to live and affordable too. Contrary to my description it really is a nice place to live, lots of variety and great for the hunter or fisherman. We have loved Arizona for a long time and the docs say my wife needs the dry air. We still love Prescott and Payson but wife gets to choose. We just got my wifes daughter and her husband moved to Tucson for a job opportunity so that will be nice, before that we did not know anyone in the state but have met so many really good people over the years that we know we will be comfortable. Will be renting for a while so the wife can find what she wants. Hopefully Cochise or Santa Cruz counties with no HOA and lower property taxes. Our realtor says he will have us out before the end of summer. Leaving one great place for another one. While wind doesn't bother us blowing sand might. We live in what they call "green country", so lots of vegetation and more huge lakes than one in Arizona can imagine. We cant wait to become a part of the community without trying to change its personality.
