We will be relocating from the Pacific NW to FL. We can be anywhere within 1-2 hours of Orlando. We lived in Orlando briefly 12 years ago as singles but now have a family. So of course we want good schools, safe neighborhood and all that jazz. We love the outdoors (did a lot of canoeing at Wekiva) so I'd like to be near some nature (though I know it can't compare to the NW!). We'd like some space and privacy (no tiny lots or high traffic areas) but would consider a planned community for making friends. We can afford about 350k for a house. Thanks for any suggestions.

If you enjoy the beaches choose a coastal community like Daytona Beach, Cocoa/Melbourne area, St. Pete (lots of retirees live there though so if that is a concern....). Gainesville or Ocala might be nice or really anywhere between about St. Augustine on the northeast side to Sarasota on the southwest side. There are lots of areas you could choose where you could be in a rural area, but still near a fairly large city.
