I have never understood that. Spend all your life trying to move somewhere, then when you do talk all this crap about how some lame [insert city name here] is wayyyyy better than down here.

Serious inquiries please.

You'll see the percentage of complaints drop drastically during the winter. It's amazing how the tone changes once the North is hit with a nice messy winter storm and it's 75 degrees and sunny here.

Wasn't it pretty mild up there last year?

I have to exempt people who are transferred down to FL because of work related job opportunities. I can see them complaining. But if, like Awesomee says, comes down thinking their in Paradise and then starts complaining about the same qualities that attracted them to FL in the first place, those people I'd like to personally hire the moving van for tme, and escort them out of state. Do your homework, people -- Florida is hot!

I bartend in St Pete, four guys on vacation from NYC came in and were watching the Rays/Yankees game. They were shocked that I had the audacity to root for the Rays, in the team's hometown, in my hometown, and busted my chops quite a bit. They were nice guys and just messing around but it still bugged me a little.

Not to get into an anti-snowbird/northerner thing but people shouldn't be so quick to pat themselves on the back for helping turn little old helpless Florida into what it is now. Rapid development, at least over the last thirty years or so, has done a lot of harm to Florida in some ways. The industries that it's created are temporary (like construction) and shallow (like hospitality). Snowbirds, who make up a huge part of the population, buy real estate here but don't do much else to support the economy. In fact, they vote to keep property taxes low at the expense of education, infrastructure, etc. because, who cares? They only live here a few months out of the year, and their grandkids live up north anyway.

Snowbirds have to live here over half the year to vote here. By the way, only 17% of the residents of Florida are over 65. Hardly a "huge" part of the population.

That's the worst part!! They moved here or lived here for 20 years or one of their idiot guedo kids was born down here and still root for the STankees! If its so awesome up north we have TWO interstates that will take you back up there!!!

But heaven forbid the Rays or Bucs (or even USF when they were ranked #2) go on a playoff run and all these "fans" pop up outta nowhere
