Nice numbers thus far. One can only hope it doesn't fall off once patrons have to pay.
That is a concern given that many already won't spring for toll roads and would imagine the same mindset would find transit costs similar.

I rode from Altamonte Springs to Church St and back on Monday.

It was hellishly over crowded, and not fun to ride, although once the paid service starts, it should be fine.

I love rail, and if i lived in orlando I would ride every day.

Heres to hoping they add train cars, and the service takes off.

Give it a rest. SunRail is a huge success and nothing you can say will change that.

I love rail too. I wish Amtrak would make a return to the capital city. Also, Sunrail has added an extra car, at least on a temporary basis.

Geez you really wave the pompoms don't you? Huge success??? Trains loaded with non-paying customers hardly register as any kind of success if one possesses the logic of anyone in adulthood. Revenue dollars and ridership numbers combined will determine the real outcome.

Snowball's chance in hell. Tri-Rail had over 4 million riders last year. SunRail is forecasted to reach 2 million by 2030.

Why do we continue to debate something that's currently unfolding? We keep making predictions about something that is currently happeining or going to happen in the near future. It's like a sports prediction, I bet Gators beat the Noles, etc, etc. Well in a few weeks when paid service starts we'll know. In the meantime here's the actual score.

By the numbers: A look at SunRail?s first five days of service - Orlando Business Journal

Its the nature of forums, people like to talk about stuff, talking about this commuter train breaks the monotony of the usual topics of wheres the best place to live in Fla.
I think if this train its going to be successful (Pay for itself)its going to have to have a daily capacity of more than what 2-3 rail cars can hold.
