Better get used to Cuban food. We have a lot of it and it's delicious!
Right on - but don't forget SPANISH immigrants, Maniac. I come from a long line of Spanish immigrants, and when I grew up my neighborhood (West Tampa) was full of them.

Pizza is soooooo overrated. I can't believe people moving here and complaining about such a stupid thing... same with Mexican food. For Pete's sake... When I was growing up the only pizza I knew was Italian "scachatta", made by Alessi bakery... It was years before I had "regular" style pizza. There are only so many ways pizza can be "good," and like anything, it is subjective. Anyway, good Cuban/Spanish food wipes the floor with pizza anyday of the week.

Lol thanks but no thanks--

Where I'm at we have the best of every culture....

Cuban food is last on my list to eat

Pizza, steaks, & such are a staple....
And we got the good stuff.
I totally understand the OP's plight

Pizza over rated? Tell that to Papa John's, Little Cesars, Domino's, Pizza Hut and many many more.
None of them are anything like a N.E. pizza, but they rake in millions of $'s a year.

In NYC pizza is a grab and go food. Like a dirty water hot dog. Its certainly not a main course food.

Neapolitan is closest to the original "Tomato Pie" of southern Italy. That would be found in Little Italy of the Bronx and what's left of Manhattan's little Italy. That is more of a sit down meal rather than a walk away food (see attached).

Just don't go as much as I do. It'll ruin your bank account.

I think you're mistaken. Florida has real pizza unlike that crappy "New York Style Pizza."

At least you New Yorkers can find New York style pizza around here, regardless of the merits of the specific pizzeria. In my part of Florida Chicago style pizza-- thin cracker crisp crust, cut in squares and with very generous amounts of cheese and toppings--is simply unavailable.

I hear there are Chicago style joints on the Gulf side; places like Sarasota.
