We're going to the Lakeland area.
Many reasons but one of the main reasons is the central location. We have family all over Florida, every direction so it makes it a little easier for us all to visit each other.
And we will still have family in NY so it makes the drive a tad bit easier as opposed to living further south. I can do the north/south drive in 15/16 hours so it's not too horrible.

I don't live in FL right now, but if I could pick anywhere to live, I really want to live in Lake Worth in Palm Beach County.

I just hope I can find a job that can pay enough for me to pay for rent and insurance.

I'm saving up to try to move there when I'm ready and can afford it. I'm thinking I should have $10K in savings to move there, have a little over $5200 now.

We live in St Pete now and really like it. It's the most liberal, progressive, fun Florida city I have ever lived in, and this comes from someone that has lived in New Orleans (you CAN get too much of a good thing!), San Fran, Honolulu, etc. Amazing place, and having the neat city of Gulfport right down the road is a big plus. Bus system is OK too. All of which are the reasons why we moved here. The problem is the drivers. Terrible place to walk or bike, unless you have a death wish.

I've actually met some old time hippie liberals out here. Yay! It's changing as I speak w/ all the money coming in, but it looks good for as long as it lasts, and that should be a while.

Englewood. 15 minutes from the beach and 10 minutes from the inter-coastal where my boat lives. And I am not in a flood zone.

One of my favorites beach in FL. Not many other beaches in Florida that you can actually surf at!
