It's kind of hard to find a job in NY when you don't know the most up-to-date stuff with computer programming. What he knows is from the 1980s. And try getting a similar job when you're 60 years old. Companies want to hire new grads. In this day and age, he should be grateful to have a job.

Some people are smart enough to stay put and deal with the place they don't like, and when they can afford it, they move back. It would be really careless to move somewhere without a job, especially NY where it's pretty expensive.

Is this TANaples?

Adding to your ever-growing list of complaints about Florida probably isn't the best way to constructively "deal" with a place you do not like. Focusing on the miserable with such intense hatred will guarantee that your (thankfully) short stay in the state will be nothing short of a miserable experience. Plus, the negativity will rub off on others. I hope the goal of posters on C-D isn't to make others miserable along with them?

Self fulfilling prophecies and misery loves company and all that, ya know?

To the original poster - you find a group of people in the Florida forum who having little positive to say about Florida. I really don't understand why there is such an overwhelming number of posters who are so negative. And you should also know that a number of active posters are in their teens who have accumulated high rep points and egos to match. This just gives them even more impetus to bash Florida.

The only cranky people I know in Florida are on this board. People I meet who are out there, living and enjoying the gifts of Florida are pleasant, polite, and friendly.

I woke up today SWEATING, in the middle of DECEMBER!!!!!!!!! Even Gayle Guyardo, local news chick, said it was hard to get into the Christmas spirit in this (ridiculous) weather.

I HATE Florida. And I don't want to hear from anyone about how I should get out, because I AM getting out of here.

Lol, I slept with the windows open and was under a faux down comforter. The low last night was 66...the high for today was 74.... hardly sweat worthy.

74 is colder than what I keep my air conditioning in the summer.

You and I do not live in the same area. It is in the 80s here today.

And I am not going to leave my windows open at night because it's not safe.

Well, if you live in Tampa (your newscaster), your temp last night was 67.

But yes, we don't live in the same area. I just think it's funny that it matters when something positive happens in one part of the state but not another, but when it's negative, the whole state can be painted with the same brush.
