Today Thanksgiving dinner is very late lunch. Did baked chicken breasts on a bed of celery and onions instead of a bird this year. Traditional sides -- cornbread dressing, deviled eggs, stuffed celery, congealed salad, green beans, sweet potato casserole with marshmallows (didn't do Senator Richard B. Russell this year), homemade cranberry sauce (I love to hear the berries pop), rolls, biscuit and dessert. Dessert was wonderful. It was called Pumpkin Pecan Spice Cake. This wasn't a layer cake and wasn't baked from scratch but it was sinfully delicious. The man at the grocery store said that it was good and he was right!

Thanksgiving brunch, which was homemade Eggs Benedict with a side of breakfast potatoes. Also had a slice of homemade sweet potato casserole and Spanish-style chicken soup. For dessert, there was a choice of pumpkin delight (similar to pumpkin pie but lighter) and banana nut bread made with chocolate batter.

We had Thanksgiving dinner at 1:30 today because of relatives needing to leave early to go work retail. We had turkey, stuffing, Pennsylvania Dutch potato filling, Cope's stewed dried corn, gravy, green bean casserole, cranberry relish, and rolls. Pumpkin pie and cherry cheese cake with whipped cream for dessert.

Do you saute the veggies first, or just put them in raw?
