homemade german sauerbraten, red cabbage and dumplings. I have tried to make homemade spatzel but it turned out terrible. Little gobs of sticky dough, the kitchen was a mess, so no more of that!!! My sauerbraten is terrific. Real marinated for 4 days with the sauce of cloves, juniper berries, vinagar and gingersnaps!!! OHH and a nice Weiss Bier!

I LOVE sauerbraten with red cabbage and dumplings! German cuisine is so very underrated.

I have a roast marinating now for sauerbraten....sorry you have had problems making spaetzle, its really pretty easy.
Rosemary and garlic seasoned leg of lamb with mint jelly, fried potatoes, red cabbage, and brussel sprouts tossed in a roasted garlic and parmesan bread dipper. Chocolate swirl cheesecake for dessert.
Chili and a piece of leftover chicken pot pie from last night.
