i like to make healthy smoothies in a blender, my quick fav, is made with sunny delight(i know its sweet,) add a banana, baby peeled carrots, frozen or fresh strawberries, blend these up with the sunny delight and its delicious, and good for you, too! blueberries, and apples are good mixers also.

after consuming this healthy, delicious snack, you can feel sooo proud of yourself, that you later can mix (in blender) breyers mint chocolate chip ice cream, milk, chocolate syrup, some coffee brandy or kahlua.
add some ice if you want a frozen drink, serve with a dab of whipped cream,,,yuuuuuuuuuuuuuuummmmmmmyyyyy!!

You gave me a great idea! I am going to add veggies to my 3 year old's fruit smoothies. He only eats corn, but he makes up for it in the fruit department.
I am so buying mint ice-cream and kahlua tomorrow!! thanks!!

Good enough that I'll have it for a meal than bother with just as a snack (all 3 meals at times). I think of it as 'Nectar of the Gods'.

Default sounds like we're all suffering from withdrawal...

I've been posting on the NC forum for months but it looks like I've found my new home As a self proclaimed foodie you guys are making me feel more at home. Ok, back to the quick snack ideas. Mix a handful of shredded cheddar cheese with a few green olives and a tiny bit of mayo (preferably Dukes brand...see I'm definitely southern ) pile onto a toasted english muffin and broil until the cheese melts...mmmm
Great as a snack and can work as a quick appetizer in a pinch.

Well there's my snack when I'm not thinking about calories which is sliced Swiss cheese or Cookie dough ice cream.

On the days when I am thinking about calories- Cup a soup. Nice snack. Tomato soup is my fav. 70 calorie snack.

You know those drinks with lots of fruit and orange juice, carrots and banana are incredibly high in sugar, carbohydrates and calories....they really are not very healthy. This is an example of why so many people have diabetes today...they don't know what is healthy.
