That sounds real yum Burdell, can I pop in for a bite ?

I marinated some chicken breasts this morning in Chinese All Spice, a bit of lemon juice and garlic and I will stir-fry these and serve with noodles and a tiny bit of soya sauce.

But I think you've given me some ideas for next time though.

If you like mushrooms here's a little experiment:

Pick up a 'split' (375ml) of a good, Fino Sherry. Saute mushrooms and shallots and divide between 2 pans, add 'cooking' Sherry to one and the Fino to the other and reduce to a sauce, S & P to taste.

I think you'll be surprised.

Still....I personally need "brand-names"! Who makes it and then I can try it. I am so clueless when it comes to wine---really. There are just so friggin many--so many!!

Yes, I use the same kind of Marsala. Any thank you---I have a brand name now. And I have seen that name--Woodridge. Horray--a name!!

Tonite I am definately making the chicken with panko, mashed potatoes, and corn on the cob (which I hate but they love), thats my way of compromising lol - they are sick of mashed potatoes...and for me its a staple, and I hate corn, but they love it. So they can't complain lol

I'm with cyn on the wine issue - I have no idea what I'm doing lol.

Hey - where's Lacey?

Maybe Lacey is being an undecided like me today. Just waiting on more info before making up our minds
And maybe a little wave listening down at the beach???? Ah how nice that would be to with a big platter of fish & chips.

I see something I like Corn. Fried corn. In an old fashioned iron skillet. With jalapenos, cayenne, and a little poblano. Now if ya'll will keep posting I might figure it out.

Mom's marinating chicken breasts in a lemon pepper thing. Not sure what else, other than turtle pie for dessert. No, not the green turtle - the caramel turtle! LOL

Cyn.To be honest, if I need a red or white wine I have my DH go to the liquor store (as we say in Boston, "the packie") and he will ask for a red or white wine for cooking and they usually just give him a bottle..usually cheap. I don't cook with a lot of alcohol and the amount I need is usually a very small amount when I do.

Hi all-just checking in-won't be cooking here DH is on his own. I have this stubborn hiatal hernia that decided to kick up it heels and wreak havoc with my digestive track. Now you know it's bad when I cancelled an appt. for a haircut!

Now these are the type of directions I can follow. As a non drinker I now so little about wine. I've tasted it... well it's not as good to me as an ice cold glass of straight up tea.

Thanks CW
