Dinner tonight was the best......pasta in basil pesto sauce with tomatoes, and mushrooms, and parmesan cheese. Chicken breast, and ciabatta bread. I'm stuffed!
All from Noodles and company, on the way home tonight.

That was a cut above my lowly pizza....

I took my boys to see Barnum and Bailey Circus at Madison Square Garden the last time the German Lion Trainer with the golden locks was in the show. They are now in their late thirties and forties....so that was some time ago!

I am cooking some boneless pork steaks (99 cents a pound so supper cost $1.54.; mashed turnip; fried onion and green peppers, rice and a yellow curry sauce to spoon over the pork.

I love prime rib - when I can find some that has been cooked right! Nothing worse than getting your taste buds set on prime rib, only to find that it's either over-done, fatty or tough! But when it's right, it is magnificent!

Dinner earlier was great. I went to Cracker Barrel with a friend a little while ago. He had a hamburger and some chicken-and-rice soup , and I had a bowl of pinto beans, cornbread, onion slices, one country ham biscuit, and coffee.

Very simply. I lightly dusted them in flour and fried them in a cast iron pan in olive oil and spooned yellow curry sauce over them when I plated them....DP really liked them.... Served on plate with rice and onion and peppers....with some curry over that too. mashed turnips on the side seasoned with a little nutmeg...(butter and a little whole milk when I mashed them)

That's true each cut does seem to come out a little differently. Their special on Sunday runs $10.95, so we don't get too upset no matter how it turns out. I have to admit I've never made it myself, even though my late dad who was a pretty good chef gave me his recipe.

I'm inspired by reading about all this good cooking here though, so maybe some day I will expand on my cooking experience.
