I skipped last year's feast due to my Dad's passing, it was tough because he and Mom would come here for it.
So I have the worlds smallest turkey and will celebrate the good times we had together. It's just the two of us as well. I am also doing a full size ham, DH does not eat turkey.

Laissez les bon temps rouler!!!!!!
Enjoy your thanksgiving anyway. My siblings have a huge feast with the kids and grandkids but I don't visit this time of year. Parents gone, grandparents and other older relatives all gone, and those are the thanksgivings I miss.

They will always be there in your heart.

And I'll throw in about 12 slices of their incredible thick-sliced bacon.
A place in Houston called Luther's BBQ that made the only BBQ better than mine. I would love to be chowing down on a BBQ chipped beef sandwich (lots of BBQ sauce) with some slow-cooked pinto beans, cole slaw, and side of sliced, right out of the refrigerator Vidalia onions, homeade pickles, and jalapeno. And don't forget a tumbler of Texas sweet tea. OK, I'm good.
Alm, maybe you should start a new tradition! Too bad there isn't an exchange program forThanksgiving hungry Canadians to be adopted by an American family, that would be too cool. No American transplants in the neighborhood?
Mainebrokerman mention the extra place setting for someone alone or in need. Also too cool.
