How long have you been there? Would love to visit my ancestral home.
I could but too much trouble for just the two of us. I've done 2 thanksgivings with other Americans out of my 13 years here.

Yes, do visit. I love it even though the climate sucks. My one and only complaint.

It's milder than we are.

I skipped last year's feast due to my Dad's passing, it was tough because he and Mom would come here for it.

So I have the worlds smallest turkey and will celebrate the good times we had together. It's just the two of us as well. I am also doing a full size ham, DH does not eat turkey.

Laissez les bon temps rouler!!!!!!

Enjoy your thanksgiving anyway. My siblings have a huge feast with the kids and grandkids but I don't visit this time of year. Parents gone, grandparents and other older relatives all gone, and those are the thanksgivings I miss.

I wish I were eating.....

Biscuits and sausage gravy at The Original Pancake House (They are huge!!). Any location.

And I'll throw in about 12 slices of their incredible thick-sliced bacon.

A place in Houston called Luther's BBQ that made the only BBQ better than mine. I would love to be chowing down on a BBQ chipped beef sandwich (lots of BBQ sauce) with some slow-cooked pinto beans, cole slaw, and side of sliced, right out of the refrigerator Vidalia onions, homeade pickles, and jalapeno. And don't forget a tumbler of Texas sweet tea. OK, I'm good.

Alm, maybe you should start a new tradition! Too bad there isn't an exchange program forThanksgiving hungry Canadians to be adopted by an American family, that would be too cool. No American transplants in the neighborhood?

Mainebrokerman mention the extra place setting for someone alone or in need. Also too cool.

LOl we had Thanksgiving October and our feasting starts again soon. With all the daily baking I am starting now til 3. week in December I am lucky to have no desire for food all that sweet smell in my house makes me crave just raw vegetable and yogurt dip
