Eeek I can't imagine why those would be worth importing unless you moved with stubborn young kids.

Now, lemon curd and orange marmalade is a different story........

It's mind-boggling how some will pay a fortune for a box of that horrible cereal. I no longer like Skippy and use a UK brand, but I remember seeing a large jar of it for $8 and that was about 7 or 8 years ago. I was going to buy some Tootsie Pops until I was told there were £1 each!

Some friends that lived in Cali told me that about 5 years ago it was $5 for a tin of Baxter's soup.

I used to buy American foods on visits and bring them home during my first 2 or 3 years here. But I found subtitutes that were as good or better and haven't bought any food there for at least 10 years.

Never tried lemon curd but I have tried marmalade and give live without it.

Lemon curd is delish, it's like lemon pudding.

Agreed, although some marmalades are better than others.

How often do you get stateside?

We've always gone once or twice a year, but since we are retired we spend a full month annually. Got granddaughters!

Yes, he's very Scottish. Taxes aren't really too bad since hubby's income doesn't count toward mine. Just discovered though that since I'm about to get a UK pension that my US SS will be reduced.

Ouch, that's not right.

Our family name was Yarborough wen they came over in the 1700's. Always wanted to visit the motherland but DH won't fly so we'd have to do the QE 2.
