It's been 3-4 years since I've been to McD or most of the other fast food places.

Yes, apparently they are. I worked for a group home where many of the clients loved McDonalds. They were packed at dinner time, and their drive-thrus tend to be backed up.

My sister and brother both hung out there in their younger years (around the time they got their license), and my sister and her friend would often beg me to bring them to McDs after snowboarding.

Nobody goes to McDonald's any more. It's too crowded.

(with apologies to Lawrence Peter Berra... )

I ate at McDonald's yesterday. Probably because this thread started a craving.

I have to differ with your tastes. I have eaten in three different Five Guys in two states. I wanted to like them. Their Hamburgers patties are OK to Good. Their stack and smash the filing leaving a soggy bun and their partially raw french fries leaves a lot to be desired... On some days they have great fries, something I don't need. They have eight types/descriptions of hamburgers, and what else? (Someone told me you can get hot dogs and a veggie sandwitch at some Five Guys).

Wendy's is one of my favorites. Good selections, salads, burgers etc and usually fixed properly.

Go figure. We all have different tastes.

I know the feeling, I've been thinking about Filet-o-Fish ever since I started reading this thread a few days ago.

I used to love Wendy's. None here in Boise are any good tho. I got a few bad burgers and dried out shrivelled up baked potatoes at 2 different locations and haven't been back in probably around 5 years.

I agree with your opinion on Five Guys. I really expected to love it due to all the raving reviews. It was good, but not good enough for the price. I'll go 3 or 4 blocks away to Bad Boy (local chain) and get a better double cheeseburger and fries for several dollars less.

Local chains are almost always better. I lived in Cedar Rapids, IA for a short time and really liked Maid Rite, a local chain that served burgers, hotdogs and sloppy joes.

Oh, stop it!
I haven't had a McD's fish filet in over a year but you just made me want one.
Not a huge fast food fan. McDonalds breakfast sandwiches sometimes just really hit the spot, though. No harm if it's an occasional thing and otherwise one eats a good, high-fiber, low-processed diet.

I joke that I can afford to eat junk once in a while because I otherwise eat a very high-fiber diet and it keeps the junk food moving quickly through my system so it doesn't stick to my thighs or arteries LOL.
