What's your favorite type of nut(s) and what do you use them for?

Right now I am making crepes, smearing some Nutella on the inside, then sprinkling some toasted hazelnuts on top. Fold, then eat.

I always find adding nuts usually makes something better and gives it texture. I love chocolate with macadamia nuts. Pancakes and French toast with walnuts or pecans.

My favorite nuts are actually legumes - peanuts. I love a nice hot fudge sundae smothered in chopped peanuts.

1. Pistachios: I love pistachio nut ice cream. I also like them by themselves, with beer, or crushed on top of salads.

2. Almonds: Think Almond Joy! Yum!

3. Macadamia nuts: Great with chocolate! Great by themselves, or with beer.

hazelnuts and walnuts, toasted, no salt - yummmmmmm. Could eat loads of them, it's a shame they're so damn high in calories.

cashews

I like cracking other nuts and eating them, but don't care for nuts in cookies or brownies

I would have liked seeing sunflower seeds and pumpkin seeds on the list as well.
I've never had macadamia or pine nuts. I do like all the nuts that I've ever had but only voted for my top 3 favorites plus 'other', for the sunflower seeds.
Nice poll, thank you.

Default I love all nuts...

I love all nuts prepared in many different ways via different ethnic cuisines, savory and sweet, and by themselves toasted or raw, salted or unsalted.

My favorite nut is Brazil nuts, although cashews are close behind. Generally, I like all nuts except hazelnuts.

This one was tough. I love most of the nuts on that list, but just because of my buying preference, I picked peanuts. I like peanut butter, redskin peanuts (especially in a Tin Roof sundae with vanilla ice cream and chocolate sauce!), cocktail peanuts, and on and on.
