I typically don't give food gifts unless I'm certain that the recipient and their family can enjoy it. There are so many allergies and sensitivities to consider these days. I've been on the receiving end of too many gifts that I can't eat.

I don't, however, give wet blankets as gifts.

Well that was rude.

Silly me for making sure I give a gift that the recipient can enjoy.

Chocolate chip cookies or chocolate dipped strawberries, depending on the person.

Or cupcakes, if they're having a party or have a big family.

I don't usually give dessert gifts because I am not that confident in my skills. I have given things I can, apple butter, vanilla pear jam, salsa, etc.

It all depends on the person. If older and no kids, rum cakes. If a family that enjoys spanish foods, tres leche. If a person I don't know well? Variety of cookies such as snickerdoodles, chocolate chip, thumbprints etc.
