Send it back too many times and you may get something EXTRA with your new dish.

It would be tempting yes, for the cook to do that. But it would be better to just tell the jerk that there won't be any more attempts made to satisfy him. Tampering with food is a quick way to lose your business and get a prison sentence and/or a huge fine. And the smart scamster would carefully examine the food being given to him/her, in anticipation that the food might get tampered with. They'd LOVE to find some evidence of tampering so they could sue.

Don't let the bad people turn you into one of them.

Maybe food tampering is risky for the tamperer......but I ain't going to push my luck and p1$$ off any restaurant staff.

Glad I am not a picky/smarmy eater.

[quote=Old Guard;42232870]Sure a food may be too spicy to you but it may not be to other people and you just limit food choices.

I'm not complaining that they have spicey food. My post is to explain that if I order food with No Stars (no chilies or hot pepppers) and then they deliver food that IS spicey, I'm training them that No Stars means One Star or Two Stars. Only if I send it back will they understand what Not Spicey means. People who eat spicey food destroy their taste buds, and they really can't be trusted to know unless someone (like me) tells them if the food is spicey or not. I'm fine with letting other people order what they want, I just don't see the point of eating food that hurts!

Then don't go to Thai, Mexican or Indian restaurants. Their food is inherently spicy. They can't just "take" out the spice. It's in the seasoning and flavoring

Is it your job to "Train" them?

You see what you consider one star spicey others may no consider spicey at all. You try to place yourself in a position of authority for no reason. If you do not like the food there is no reason to steal from small business owners.

I do not think we could ever be friends.

Are you saying they are not natural? I think the word natural is one of the most overused and incorrectly used phrases. Arsenic and lead are natural.

LOL yes, I sure do see this often. If I don't like a dish I feel very bad for making the chefs cater to my every need, so I usually just suck it up and find a way to enjoy the meal. I'm too nice sometimes..
