Me too! It actually took me a few years to enjoy mussels (I thought they looked scary), but I love them now. I love my meat and I love seafood.

I'm an elk-hunting widow for a while which means I kick out the jams on all my favorite foods. Yesterday for lunch I had a banana split!

Tonight I'm having grilled sirloin with green peppers, mushrooms and onions, a twice-baked potato and Caesar salad.

DH left me a big bag of gummy bears, chocolate-covered carmelized cashews and mixed nuts (without peanuts) so I have "dessert" all waiting for me.

We're always watching our weight so every now and then I just gotta have a little vacation from it.

I had a teriyaki burger tonight and for dessert I had a hot fudge sundae from Braum's with peppermint stick ice cream. A break from diet food tonight!

Spaghetti and meatballs. The noodles were made with penne pasta but it was still good.

Friday: Thank you to all Veteran's for your service! I hope you have a wonderful, relaxing day. This weekend I'm puppy sitting my grand puppy. I'm ordering Chinese food. Wonton soup ( though I may change that to sweet and sour) shrimp egg rolls, dim sum, boneless spare ribs, house special lo mein, chicken with broccoli, General Tso chicken. Fortune cookies.

Ribs in a South Carolina type BBQ sauce, potato salad and corn on the cob. I need to get my behind in gear and get in that kitchen! I love making meals where most of the work is done early.
Happy Veteran's Day.
And in honor of the passing of the great Leonard Cohen I will listen while working in the kitchen this morning. RIP Mr. Cohen.
