The fruit-flavored San Pellagrino drinks are pretty good, usually go for about 5 bucks a six-pack. That's not exactly "rich people" territory but it's certainly pricier than the standard Coke/Pepsi stuff -- an "affordable luxury" if you will. They also have a good deal of actual fruit juice in them, up to 27% or so.

Though not prohibitively expensive, sodas normally containing HFS being sold with sugar instead are being sold at ridiculous prices individually. The difference in the cost per bottle using sugar vs. HFS's can't possibly justify the price difference.

Do you mean stuff like locally bottled beverages sold outside their area? Sioux City, Waynesville, Boylan and other regional sodas are sold here at a 'soda bar' for roughly $4-5 a bottle.

I saw a carton of Watermelon Perrier water, almost 7 bucks, but it had ten small cans. Coke is actually a bargain compared to that. I wonder how it would taste, sounds good.

Not sure if flavored unsweetened waters (carbonated or not) are regarded as soft drinks.

While soft drinks are called "soft" in contrast to "hard drinks" (alcoholic beverages) - flavored waters, tea, and other such non-alcoholic, unsweetened beverages are technically soft drinks by this definition but are not generally referred to as such.

I agree with the healthier. But, there's really no reason it should cost more and certainly not much more for one with sugar instead of HFS.
