Oh!! There are all kinds of ginger drinks, sarsaparilla, artisinal (sp?) root beers and such that I love. Never buy them because they are unnecessary calories. Only on special occasion.

What are some soft drinks that are unaffordable as daily drinkers for most folks?
Are you talking about expensive ingredients or label snobbery??
As a rule, I believe, poor people drink more soda than wealthy people. Being health-conscious, being fit, and taking care of your body are all status symbols in America. Since a soft drink is a drink that typically contains carbonated water, a sweetener, and a natural or artificial flavoring, "expensive" and "soft drinks" could be oxymoron...
I think the most expensive "soft" drinks come in some very rare, limited edition bottles and cans. Especially when they are sold on e-bay: The 10 Most Expensive Sodas In The World
Aside from collector items I'd say the soft drinks and juices that go in mixed drinks are very pricey. Even though the poor and rich pay the same price. With the price of mixed drinks maybe the rich should be the only ones indulging.
Those mix drinks are expensive because of the alcohol price, not so much because of the soft drink mixed into it.
I believe OP didn't asked about alcoholic mix drinks.

Well there's a lot of profit in there regardless how they calculate it. Most of the cost is to cover the alcohol no doubt. Still an expensive way to have your soda or juice.
I know he didn't refer to mixed drinks but soft drinks or juice ingredients gotten via mixed drink are pricey.
I get dandelion and burdock (soda?) drink every once in a while. I don't drink soda but that is refreshing. Not sure if it's expensive--I'm not rich either. It's sort of unusual so maybe it's expensive.
Pepsi 1893 goes for over a dollar a can. I tried one with black currant flavor. It tasted like a Pepsi to me.
