SO wants thick boneless pork chops sautéed in inion/garlic/mushrooms/Chardonnay, Basmati, the never ending bowl of green salad. But I have lots of ice cream cones for those who eat their salad
Cherries looked good yesterday so there is nibble food for the after dinner movie.
Having visitors passing through and serving Leberkäse,Sauerkraut,Bavarian mustard,white and red radish salad and potato salad.Making my own Pretzels and will serve lentil burgers for the non meat eaters.To drink a variety of beer.For dessert chilled cheese cake (made from creamed cottage cheese)topped with strawberry slices,whipping cream and ice coffee.
That is what happens when you have the meal almost done and you realize that you have about 3 oz of egg noodles and 6 oz of rotini in the house. I guess that I could have used rice noodles but those don't handle heavy sauces well. Or spaetzle noodles but I am saving those for when I make schnitzel. Or maybe rice of spaghetti.
I am trying to get out of the habit of running to the grocery when I need something for dinner. The only local store in five miles is a grossly overpriced Safeway store that literally charges prices that are 15% higher than the Safeway in the next town and 30% higher than the Krogers affiliate 12 miles away.
