I got this jar of bacon spread paste, which is like a spread, you put on food, and I forgot I had it for a few months, sitting there in the fridge. I tasted it and it was actually fine, surprisingly, and not sick or anything from a taste.

I wonder how long it lasts, do they just put a lot of preserves in and it's still good likely then, or what? I read that meat sauce can go bad in a week, but every time I read something like that, the food always lasts longer and it seems people exaggerate how fast something can go bad.

Do you think it's still safe?

But how did it last this long possibly though, since it's meat?

It may have been longer than six months though, even though it seems to taste fine still.

Store-bought or homemade? My homemade bacon jam says 2-3 weeks in the fridge.

I would use it. I would probably put it in a soup, instead of a ham bone. Boil it up good.

If you have tried it and not died or had ill effects, I don't see an issue. But realize this, I am not eating it... YOU ARE
