Yesterday: cake batter ice cream in a waffle bowl at Coldstone. (After dinner at PF Chang's. Both my son's idea. The ice cream was wwaaaayyy too sweet for me!)

Today: canoli from Whole Foods. Yum! That said, I can make "real" canoli shells and all (it is easiest if you have a pasta roller to do the dough to make the shells). However, when there are just 2 of us, it's an awful lot of work and you can't really make just 2 canoli shells. So when I do something like canoli homemade, I do them when I know I will be entertaining. Otherwise Whole Foods has them about $2 a piece, so $4 and a 2 minute trip across the street to bring dessert home. ;-) And being Whole Foods, I know there isn't a ton of chemicals and nasty ingredients I can't pronounce. I love having Whole Foods so close-and the "mini/per person" desserts are worth it alone. It prevents me from making and eating an entire 9-inch cheesecake lol! Also, while I do have molds and know how to make "miniatures", sometimes it just isn't cost efficient. I still may need the same 18 ingredients as a 9-inch cheesecake to make a 4 inch cheesecake, and things don't often come in small enough packages to justify.
