Just got in again from a trip around the country and find that in many Southern States Sweet Tea is the drink.
Here in New Mexico it is not as popular as other places. We were in West Tx. and the Mikey D's was OUT of ST...could not believe it.
I like it for my morning drink...
Also do many folks make SUN Tea

What brand/kind is your favorite Sweet tea. I know one person on this site that likes it since I have been following this....starts with a N...?

Happy trails,
HW

I loved to drink sweet tea about ten years ago when I was going down to Atlanta once a month. I also used to bring back half gallon jugs of Wawa's sweet tea on the way home. My friends and I nicknamed it "liquid crack" because it was so good. But it's really too sweet in an unhealthy way, so I now drink unsweetened tea that I brew at home. I also drink mostly water these days.

No thanks, I'll pass on the sweet tea, I'll stick with just plain ice tea, and maybe a slice of lemon.

My Southern relatives used to make sweet tea and then some of them would add more sugar at the table...the result being something akin to syrup!

Yup, I confess, sweet tea drinker here as well. And I put two cups of sugar in my gallon as well.

I use Sysco house blend, got hooked on it when I had a restaurant/store and still order it.
I do drink lots of water as well, but have to have my sweet tea. Hey, I do not drink many soft drinks, gave 'em up and now they taste salty! So, I need some type of drink that I can indulge in.

I usually make two to three gallons per day during the summer as Everyone comes to my house for my tea.

I think we need 3 designations:

1. Super-sweet, hyperactive for the rest of the day, traditional southern sweet tea. (don't forget there is also caffeine in it)

2. Lighter sweet, but with half the sugar, so you can taste tea, as well as sugar. (gets my vote)

3. Unsweet tea, nuf sed.

In a restaurant I ask for unsweet and add the amount of sugar I want from the packets onthe table. I don't want to get diabetic over glasses of tea, no flippancy intended as avoiding too much sugar is a genuine concern.

Occaisionally I'll buy the Lipton sweet lemon tea in stead of a Coke, but generally I prefer unsweetened green or regular tea. I dont do much on those herb teas, though.
