My first instinct was to not like RR or her phony career. And while I'm still not a fan, the things I've read or seen on tv about her make it sound like she's a good person.

Overexposed? You bet. Recently caught a travel show she is now doing... Most of the segment she wasn't even in them. Probably fly her in for one day to go to 2 or 3 places and she does voice over for the others.

I love her food. It's easy to cook and involves things that are mostly already in my kitchen. My family loves her food and I love her magazine.

I don't particularly care if she wants a family right now or not, or whether or husband is wonderful or not b/c frankly, that's none of my business.

But to each their own. (and yep, that was my preachy post for the day.)

Knowing that she's just trying to get meals on the table quickly.

That being said...

Does her chiperness get on anybody's else's nerves. I'm like no one can be that bubble and chirpy.

When I meet people like that I feel like they aren't grounded in reality. They just don't seem normal. Her goofy giggle sometimes drives me nuts.

I'm not trying to bash her. I watch her all of the time and do alot of her "recipes".

What do you guys think??

I watch Rachael Ray on Mute.

Shes hot, but annoying to listen to.

I've read through all the pages and I've figured out that the high-brows and the middle-brows who want to be high-brows don't like her. The lowbrows, including me, like her.

Excellent post.

I'm a low brow I guess. I started the thread but I still like her.

I agree with the people who say that she's over-exposed.

The one thing that really bugs me about her - when I watched $40 a day and she would basically stiff her servers on the tip to get under $40.

I have no problem with her cooking though...every meal can't be a gourmet meal with specialty ingredients.

I don't like Rachel Ray at all. She tries so hard to be cutsie and it annoys the crap out of me. I don't like looking at her or listening to her. I don't like Paula Deen either. I can take Giada. My all time favorite is Nigella.

I don't mind her too much, but then again, I just catch her in small doses. Her magazine is surprisingly good--easy to read, well-designed and has a lot of good tips, and it's not just all cooking.
