I don't drink soda as much as I did when I was younger, but when I do, I drink the regular Coke, though I used to think that diet sodas were healthier but they aren't. When I enjoy an occasional McDonald's french fries, drinking Coke completes the experience. The most delicious fries with a Coke chaser, nothing beats the warm crispy fries with refreshing bubbly drink. I agree with the poster that said all those diet cokes kills the liver slowly.
I used to drink a lot of soft drinks but then I stopped keeping it in the fridge at home and my consumption decreased dramatically. I usually only have a soft drink once or twice a week now when I eat out at work. The rest of the time I drink water.
I've switched mostly to unsweetened iced tea with a slice of lemon, but I'll still have a regular Dr Pepper or Coke once or twice a month, I don't like the taste of diet soda at all so I'll never drink it.
I don't think I drink 2 sodas a year, died or otherwise. I love morning coffee, late afternoon wine and juice for breakfast. The rest of the time I usually drink water.
Twelve Diet Cokes a day? That's nothing compared to Christina Onassis, who was reportedly hooked on the stuff. I remember reading how, before it was available abroad, she had it flown in by the caseload.
