Potted meat! I mean...what the hell is that crap anyway?
I was in England and bought a little can of potted meat for something like a quarter to send my mom as a joke. The first ingredient--I'm not kidding--was defatted beef tissue or something like that. Num num.
Canned Crab. It is to Crab what Alvin and the Chipmunks are to Music. As a lover of Crab I consider canning high treason. A culinary blasphemy of the highest order. I hardly ever use anything canned so my knowledge is rather limited. I have some quite nice "petits pois" and carrots though they do taste better out of jar.

Though they are very different from (and I prefer) fresh, most canned vegs, meats, soups and pastas don't freak me out much. Some are actually pretty good in their own way, like the zuchinni in tomato sauce.
I like most canned exotic seafoods. I did get a can of what I thought were tiny shrimp from an Asian market, well they were tiny to the point of being plankton! It looked like black sludge, I didn't use it.
The "grossest" food I can think of are canned tamales. I feel sorry for people who think that's what tamales are.
That thing with the teeth in it beats my first thought: canned sauerkraut. It smells and tastes 10 billion kazillion times worse than the fresh variety.
I would've said canned tuna fish (the smell alone has been known to make me vomit), but that canned chicken thing is just...there are no words in the English language for it.
I was going to reply with that canned meat. Ever seen it....it's this can of random ground up meat that is pressed into a can. It's the most aweful looking 'food for humans' I've ever seen. It reminded me of canned cat food.
But now that I've seen the canned whole chicken I've reversed my opinion of what the grossest canned food I've ever seen is.
