LeJeune is nowhere near NW 67 Ave. They are 25 blocks apart. Just to clarify, do you mean that you are near NW 67 Ave and NW 34 St, in other words on the WEST side of the airport?

lol, I didn't say it was a better commute. I was just refuting someone who claimed there was "no alternative route".

I havent ruled it out completely, but that would be more about finding a specific place than having an area in mind and finding the best that I can there. I need a minimum of three bedrooms and I do not want another house. That also limits what is available
I know you said no Miami but there is the Julia Tuttle expway, it takes you from Lejeune to Miami Beach in 10-15 minutes. Driving from Lejeune to 67 should be 5 minutes. I would consider that area if you want to avoid the suburbs. If you live in that area of Miami beach your commute will take 15-20 minutes, to ft Laderdale it will take 50-90 minutes depending on traffic

I usually leave for work before 7 and, when I have driven it, it has not been bad at all. My guess it is only the afternoon traffic that would be difficult. If it is only traffic one way, I could live with it, but that comes down to the real question...quality of life. If anyone has lived in either or both places, I would appreciate your comments. I am almost 50 and my kids are off in school. I have never been a go to a bar and party kind of person...I would rather have a nice restaurant and a beautiful view. I have lived in the suburbs most of my life, so I would enjoy something a little more urban but close to a beach. That is why my first thought was downtown/southeast FLL. It seems like FLL fits my personality better than MIA, but I have only really spent much time in FLL and the Keys so it is hard to be sure.
