If the bellman doesn't let go of my bag, I'm going to give him something allright.
And it ain't a tip.

Just say "I got it, thanks".

If that doesn't work, I'd say "Let go of my bag."

I too have never had that problem and I've stayed from the crummiest motor lodge on up to 5 diamond resorts.

oh yeah, because i walk into so many bathrooms that are sooooo disorderly that i cant even pee in there or wash my hands. sinks and toilets are constantly clogged, tp is all over the place, people are breaking things while im using the facilities. its a nightmare.

the only places where a bathroom is in bad shape are places where there would never be an attendant anyway.

I spend money at the establishment which should supply me with a clean and orderly bathroom. It should also cover that the toilet isn't clogged and everything functions as necessary.

In reality the bathroom attendants are USUALLY a self employed service where they just walk in with a suitcase full of gum, mints and cheap cologne and then commandeer the soap and paper towels to collect tips. They aren't paid directly by the bar nor do they "clean" the bathrooms. Maybe the sink areas, but most certainly not the toilets. I think its a good service to have IF I want a mint or some gum which is why I will tip them for it. But I am not going to tip them for handing me a towel and squeezing a pump for me.
