We like to go out for an early dinner -- maybe a Thai place -- and then come home and build a fire and watch a good movie. In the past we have got together with friends for a lobster dinner and that was fun -- but it will be quiet and not too extravagant for us this year. I am fine with it on all counts.

Staying in and pointying and clickying.

Too many people acting psycho as of late, best to avoid crowds.

I'm taking my leash-trained ferret to the Las Vegas Strip New Year's Eve, after most of the crowds have thinned down, there'll be lots of litter everywhere, which will put my ferret in 7th Heaven as he likes to forage through trash! Cost: 3 miles to the Strip by car, only gas money!

New Year's Day nite, to a Marisela concert, $35 for a balcony seat!

Ok no hotel for me. Staying in. Just purchased food for a Mexican themed dinner and alcohol. Probably spent less than $50 for everything for the night

We're spending the New Year the same as we do every year. We are watching the Twilight Zone marathon on SyFy and we will make pizza. I've got a bottle of wine chilling and hubby will have a beer or two. We'll probably be asleep by 12:15 am.

We are both huddled under blankets with the flu.

At home. Lit the fireplace and drinking champagne. Watching the ball drop on tv.

Frugal. We're staying in and watching movies tonight and then we're splurging on takeout for the Bowl games tomorrow.

Tonight was frugal. Dinner with several couples at the local Italian. About $37 per person.

Spendy starts tomorrow. We're moving from Chicago to California for the winter. Rented beach condo. Yay.
