My sister is always talking about how broke she is yet she takes more trips to see her friends than anyone I know. She has driven 8 hours one way to see friends three or four times in just the past two months.

My SIL - a single mother raising 2 kids, but insists on keeping the 3 horses and lives in a house that eats up about 60% of her pay...can't state the obvious tho!

Some people just don't have a dang bit o' sense. I try to steer clear of people who have misplaced priorities. But then the ultra frugal ones get on my nerves too.

Oh, these people who are always saying: Gee! It must be nice to have $$!
That line, alone, gives them away, as I've found over the years.

Many of these people can't even spell the word frugal.

My poor parents would buy a used car every 10 years. They buy another used car. Rich uncle, rich cousin happen to see it: Gee! It must be nice to have $$!

Where I work I hear it way too many times when my extreme frugality allows me to take 4 vacation trips a year. Must be nice to have $$! And, even though a number of them are not paid well, off they go to a fast food restaurant for their lunch breaks, while I brown bag it to work, driving my 27-year-old Toyota.

Recently, an RN who works two full-time jobs ($30 hrX 80 hours) said that to me as I was leaving to catch a plane to Portland one morning. I turned to her and said: Yes, it must be nice to have $$. I don't have the income to buy a Round-the-world pass, like you do, so I'm stuck going to Oregon and Washington!

I doubt whether she'll ever throw that line at me again!

That's funny!! The horses, I mean. Just heard a report on NPR a couple of days ago about people having to "turn in" their horses so to speak, because the annual cost of one is about 4k. How in the world does she have 3?? Also, some horse owners are so strapped, they are selling horses for one dollar!!!

Something about paying a dollar for a horse intrigues me. Hmm, let's see, how can I make money owning a horse? Horse milk maybe?

Ill start it off.

A woman at my job, who constantly cries about being broke, and how her kids have to eat the same thing every day to anyone who will listen, yet at the same time eats out every single day at restaurants for lunch.
i hear you, i know people that never cook ever.
btw that is a great date filter.

Like how she says the kids eat the same thing everyday yet she eats WHATEVER SHE LIKES for herself

I used to work with this lady that always cried about "I cant pay my credit card bill this month, I cant go fix my teeth until I pay off my credit card, I cant buy my vitamins, I cant do this and cant do that" but HER ENTIRE PAYCHECK went to buy CLOSETS, PANTRIES AND FRIDGES full of food for herself, her husband and her grown kids. One 24yr old teacher which should be out the house by now and on her own and her big boy that is a grown 28yr old punk that will never leave home because she SPOILS THEM TO DEATH!!!!! that's why she was always broke.. THE KIDS she would say wanted COOKIES AND CHOCOLATE AND SNACKS AND CHIPS Excuse me? She also would give them money for GAS AND BILLS if they needed it........MIND YOU THEY LIVE AT HOME and both have decent jobs why would they need money from broke mommy all the time?

Some people just make no sense to me sometimes...

We just returned from visiting our family and I have posted before about certain members we have in our family who are always boasting the fact that "they are better with their money" ,etc... but then turn around and complain about not being able to do this or that...
Well... in the past 3 months they have: bought a brand new car,a brand new computer,a rainbow play set for their children and horseback riding lessons for their daughter....

hmmmmmmmmmmm.
Oh yeah, they are flying to chicago this Summer as well, flew to Disney in the Spring...
I don't know, but that doesn't seem very frugal to me???
