Beets. They were small but they were beets.

I wish I had room for strawberries.

Ugh….I have a pair of rabbits in my yard and I really don't want to have my DH shoot them. I did find some critter deterrent to sprinkle around my garden. I hope it works

How do you prepare your beets? I only grew about 10 this year.

Can you grow strawberries in a container?

I picked and ate my first few blueberries today.

Yesterday my GD and I picked cucumbers and yellow squash.

Yes Lisa you can grow strawberries in containers I have mine in an old galvanized wash tub. I planted All Star & Ozark Beauty the all star doesn't have one bloom on them while the Ozark have given me about a dozen berries. So the all star might be getting yank out of my planter soon. Same with a big bertha bell pepper that has never set blooms and one early girl tomato that never set blooms after the first ones got cut off.

I've decide the elevated garden box is not deep enough to grow tomatoes because neither early girl is very tall and only one has one tomato on it. The maters in the bigger pots are doing well just waiting on them to ripen that is the hard part. Kohlrabi is doing well in the box as is the cucumbers.

Ha ha ha sounds like my beets. Small but delicious! I'm going to sow some more chard and beets near the end of the month. I think that should give them time to germinate and mature before it gets too cold.

Marjoram, onion, GARLIC, thyme, rosemary, the last kale and swiss chard in an omlette. Mondardas fistulosa and didyma in milky tea.

I've harvested all my garlic...I hope anyway. I'd read someplace that they would be ready at the end of July and totally miscalculated so I harvested some of the soft neck ones too late. I have a TON of garlic now. There are about two heads in my breakfast today. Mmm good for the blood? I'll be giving some away and maybe planting some more this Fall.

Ugh that may be too much garlic. It tastes good, but I'm going to try not to have too much of a good thing.

Tomatoes for me, too. I love the Sweet 100s! I wish I had planted a second pot of them.
