Dandelions. Plus a low growing weed with purple flowers. Don't know the name of it but it grows thick and looks like a ground cover.

Now playing—blue rhododendrons(breathtaking), blue violets, blue Brunnera, candytuft

First showing—scarlet rhododendron

Lilacs are getting ready to bloom. Plum tree on back patio is blooming and so is a yellow current. Flowerbeds are tulips, daffodils some tiny and some larger. and some violets. Some columbine also have buds starting to shoot up. Hoping the predicted frost does not get the lilacs and columbine.

Our firecracker plant has more blooms than usual this spring since I didn’t prune it as severely as usual. I find it hard to stop with pruning shears in hand.

Gorgeous. We bought a house from friends one time , actually traded houses, and every plant was cut to 3 inches bushes to about 1 foot. I totally cracked up when my husband, a total non gardening person but knows my style, called her the plant Bobbitt. I like kind of wild slightly controlled chaos.

I have a Chaya plant that is blooming and Zebra longwing butterflies are visiting constantly. Chaya leaves cannot be eaten raw, but are suppose to be great cooked and are very nutritional. I haven’t tried them yet.

Lilacs, lilacs, lilacs. I wait for this all year, and I can't stop sniffing them. I'm going to go sniff them again right now.
