Portland again, is a mini San Francisco. Plus the abundance of "hipsters" isn't attractive to me. I'd rather spend my time in Bend if I went to Oregon, but I'd rather relocate towards the east coast or Midwest

July, August part of September. Some years parts of June and all of September. With a wetsuit you could be in in April.

It is getting warmer. My son is a rower, They have been on the water at the end of February the past couple of years. They row through November but you sure do not want to be in the water in November.

Indian does have some nice areas. So does Ohio. Cincy is a neat city and look up Hocking Hills (it is nto Michgian, but that area is fairly pretty).

You are in a liberal elitist community. The non-stop one upmanship between liberals trying ot out liberal each other is not common in most areas. There are only a few places you need to avoid to get away from that. (Well the east coast and the west coast, maybe except the southeast, I think Main is safe).

I think you would enjoy Atlanta. If you lived on the northern side you'd be close enough to enjoy the mountains and lakes on weekends. It's a very diverse city with people from everywhere and all walks of life.

Atlanta has been mentioned a few times, I've spent literally no time there so no clue what to expect. I know ATL gets a bad rep, are the areas of "bad" easily avoidable and suburbs safe?

I really like Atlanta (most of it) especially Buckhead. But I have only visited. Traffic is crazy and the drivers tend to match the craziness. Some of the traffic planners ought to be tarred and feathered. It is huge, crazy bust and mostly new, but it has some cool parts too. You really cannot generalize about it becuase it has some of everything.

If that's the case, throw some suggestions at me.

Good & safe suburb area, low crime area, housing cost estimates, etc... If you don't mind? I'm assuming you have experience in Pittsburgh if you're recommending it!
