And what's impressive about Oakland's wealthy neighborhoods is how diverse they are anyway... there's not a lot of "racial enclaves" in Oakland other than Piedmont, which is itself a separate city (completely surrounded by Oakland). You will rarely find diversity and wealth like this elsewhere:

Caballo Hills median household income: $109,864

^Show another wealthy neighborhood with a mix like that.

And 18Montclair forgot this neighborhood:

Chabot Park median household income: $96,834

*awaits the predictable chorus of "but, Oakland's the ghetto!"*

I wonder if the poll is based on the amount of wealthy black people or the average salary of black people. There is a difference. If it were the amount of wealthy black people or say number of black families over 250K, etc. that would explain a lot.

The fact is that Oakland has one of the largest wealthy black populations in the country. Deal with it.

What never ceases to amaze me is how loudly a lot of white people will scream at the notion that black people are as socio-economically complex as white people. Whenever you bring up broke white people, there's a convenient label for "those other white people" so that they don't feel connected to them, but if you ever try to talk about the existence of wealthy black neighborhoods then there will always be a white chorus of "that aint wut Deebo frum Friday sed." I swear people like you are so incredibly see-through to everybody but yourselves smh
The majority of violent crimes/murders in Oakland are perpetrated by Black people.

You do realize that Blacks are the biggest group , pluralistically, in Oakland. So, you get a variety of experiences from the Black community there and across the country.

I think it applies for any city......but the issue is not exactly "black and white", no pun intended.

This has absolutely zero relevance to this thread.

This thread is about affluent Black communities and apart from a few neighborhoods in the Los Angeles area, the only place I know of in the entire West that has neighborhoods which are both predominantly Black and affluent, is Oakland.

Here is one example:
Chabot Park Average Household Income: $123,738

Missouri City, Texas looks to have a low rate of poverty and is plurality black. Although it seems like it might be more middle-class than rich.

Looking at the highest income places list I don't see many that are particularly "black" although I haven't given a thorough look just yet.

The thing about Pg county and Atlanta that maybe differs from alot of other affluent black areas is that they are continuous not a few neighborhoods of a few thousand ppl. Outside the beltway in Prince George's you could assume is continuous communities of over 250,000+ black ppl living well. Some cities dont even have 250,000 black ppl over all.

Parts of NYC and Detroit are like that in parts within the city limits. Same with LA too.
