Apparently. Thanks for the reply. If I understand correctly, once you have gained a Firearm Purchaser card you can buy any long guns more or less at will?

Yes, but it is almost impossible to get one.

In Michigan, to legally buy a handgun, you have to:

1. Go personally to a law enforcement agency

2. Take a written handgun safety test

3. Wait several days for the background check to be processed

4. Go back to the department and get the notarized purchase permit

5. Buy the handgun within ten days, after which the permit expires

6. Take the gun within ten days back to the police to have it safety inspected.
