New york has two Sleepy Hollows. The more famous (official city) one is near Tarrytown.

But Kinderhook also takes claim to the tale.

So Chesterton was right after all - when people stop believing in God they will indeed believe in anything.

By the way, "Catholic-Magic"? WTF?

Louisana (The Winner!) --- VAMPIRES, above ground cemeteries, below sea level cities. And I suppose voodoo and witchcraft for some.

Maine --- this state is big for creepiness, at least according to STEPHEN KING!

Massachusetts --- Salem, WITCHES, Boston Red Sox fans

New York --- Sleepy Hollow, Headless horsemen, Yankees, smelly subways, NYC constantly being attacked by GIANT MONSTERS

California --- Los Angeles and especially San Francisco constantly being attacked by SPACE ALIENS or more recently APES!
New York City always seems to get the short end of the stick. Always being invaded by aliens and blown up in every war. Oh, and don't forget massive tsunamis.

I'd say Missouri and Illinois are pretty scary with the looming threat of the New Madrid earthquake.

Several bizzare experiences in the Rumford and Farmington areas of Maine. Oxford and Franklin counties are just very strange places IMO.
