And that's just directly north. Nearly a 3rd of the entire mainland U.S.A. is further north than much of southern Ontario.
I actually meant “directly north”, not “further north than”. Very little of Canada is directly north of the US, and that makes Windsor an oddity.

According to the Farmers Almanac, only region in the lower 48 US states that has never seen snow (since official weather records were first kept) is extreme southern Florida: The Keys, and areas south of Homestead in Miami-Dade.

The smaller-than-1-square-mile Regent Square neighborhood in Allegheny County Pennsylvania straddles four municipalities: Pittsburgh, Wilkinsburg, Edgewood and Swissvale. Its irregular boundaries make some of its streets pass in and out of two or more municipalities in the course of 2-3 blocks. Depending on where your house is, your kids will go to to school in one of the three school districts the neighborhood overlaps.

Morgan Island, about 4500 acres and located off the coast of South Carolina, has a population of approximately 4000— rhesus monkeys, that is. There are no permanent human inhabitants on the island.

There is an housing complex located in Palo Alto, California that is divided between school districts. 22 of the units are in the Palo Alto School District. The other 18 units are in the Mountain View - Whisman School District and the Mountain View - Los Altos High School district. Which doesn't seem to be uncommon in California. Most school districts in California have little resemblance to the cities they are named after.

Quote:
Feeling divided from neighbors and too far from assigned schools, a group of households at 670 San Antonio Road have petitioned the county Office of Education to redraw school district boundaries to include 18 units from the complex. The other 22 units in the San Antonio complex near Middlefield Road are assigned to Palo Alto schools, according to a petition signed by residents.

The division leads to a lack of communal harmony, the petition states.

According to Simran Raheja, who volunteered among neighbors to lead the petition effort, children who attend schools in different cities have disappointingly little interaction.

"Those two kids are almost of the same age and they don't even play together. They dont know each other's names," she said.

By the way, the real reason for that petition, was not community harmony, it was real estate value. Homes in the Palo Alto School District have more value.

I didn't even though there were wild monkeys in the US until I read this.

I don't know I would call them "wild" monkeys, but Silver Springs State Park in Florida has them too.
