actually Clara Harris lived in Friendswood - she just worked in Clear Lake.
Close enough. I showed two houses in Middlebrook and then headed to Baybrook Mall for lunch. Later on I was surprised that the mall was just inside of Friendswood. I thought it was part of Houston's tax base.
It seems Clear Lake is more Desperate Housewives rather than Stepford. That's why I don't want to live on that side of the city besides the hurricane susceptibility. Westside all the way!!!
Clear Lake could be the butt of David Letterman jokes if he knew about this area.
There are several in the LA metro that come to mind really quickly. There are also a few neighborhoods in SAn Diego that look a lot like that movie. Not really plastic. But you can tell the places that are a mile away.
Went to a public meeting in Palm Beach once and the general fakeness and sense of entitlement of people's attitudes there gave me the serious hee-bee jeebees.
Folks ought to do their research. When the 2010 census numbers are released, this town is going to be on the national radar. As a measure of affluence, the number of family households that have a single wage earner is a great meaure, maybe the strongest one. It certainly is also the one that is most indicative of Stepford-ness. The Woodlands is in the top ten in the country. High wages with low cost of living has created a female leisure class that loves to decorate.
That's more like Desperate Housewives. I used to live in one of thos suburbs and a family was on a realty show where they switched wives. I knew the family!

Cary, NC, a sprawling suburb of Raleigh, reminded me of a Desperate Housewives/Stepford kind of place...with bland subdivision of McMansions that all look the same, subdivisions, etc.
