If you find an English accent grating, you really don't have enough things in life to think about.

It doesn't bother me none because I'm use to being around it all the time. Can't speak for others on here though. My English girlfriend didn't think she had an accent LOL (until she came to America - why is everyone staring at me every time I say something) That's okay I'll get my turn when I start talking American slang while I visit England in January.

Actually, I have the opposite problem. I think about too many things, and my brain is cluttered as a result thereof.

I've heard "Oh, yes, I live in Santa Monica" (insert accent) too many times. It always comes off affected. I'm not saying they aren't nice people. Most of them are. I just couldn't relate to many of them, and I'm sure the feeling was mutual. Also, beyond entertainment, it was really interesting with how many you couldn't tell what they did for a living - oftentimes something entrepreneurial and/or flaky.

^ This May be the worst comment I've ever read on City-data. Makes no sense at all.

Holly Valance is Australian. And "we" were talking Southern English, not Southern American.

I remember one American show even having subtitles when a British English speaker was on, and the worst thing was the accent wasn't even "exotic"!

Do you personally find British accents tiring to listen to?

I don't have problem understanding the British accents and love the British accents it sounds better on the girls than guys. And love the strong British accents too.

They talk with more air than at throat that people in the US and Canada do.

Even some US southern accent that nore talking in nose has more of the throat .

A guy that has very strong deep voice should learn the British accents .Nothing is turn of than very strong deep voice it sound so hillbilly.
