the most popular ghettos in the country are the south bronx , northern brooklyn(but most just say brooklyn), southside of chicago, and the ghettos of Los Angeles.

ghettos arent popular by crime stats. its only popular to people who google them and debate them and this site would be a perfect example of that. On this site for example the most popular ghettos are Gary, East saint louis, camden, and flint lmao.

But new york city, chicago, and Los angeles ghettos are popular mainly because of hip hop and the fact that these cities had terrible ghettos during the crack era and infamous gangs as well.

Funny thing is i can go to places right now with higher murder rates then nyc and meet people who think nyc is a crime ridden place.

places where i have had those reactions? Orlando, Baltimore(trust me smh), Philly, Boston, and a few other spots in florida and maryland. A lot of people in america dont follow up on their crime stats.

Uptown or 9th Ward New Orleans. Most of Uptown is flourishing and upscale, but Cash Money rappers made it notorious in the 90s and early 2000s.

Lets see... in general converstaion from anybody and everybody i usually hear... Detroit (in general, no specific area), south side Chicago, Compton (LA), North Minneapolis (because i lived near there, and still live in the Twin Cities), i never hear much about NYC here... other than sometimes Harlem... and Camden (Philadelphia). Also east St. Louis.

I don't really get this... I live in the Midwest with 66,000,000 other people, what exactly does that explain?

From all of those gangster movies in the 90s such as Boyz N Da Hood and so on we definitely know south central LA is one of them. Southside Chicago, Camden NJ, East St Louis, Detroit, The 5th Ward in Houston, New Orleans and Memphis. That's about all I hear about on a larger scale. I'm sure there's a dozen more though.
