Hey everyone!

I want to move sometime soon, but I don't really know where to go. I have three criteria that I'd like to have met.

1. An outdoor-friendly place, maybe a smaller town that has a lot to do nearby. Preferably mountainous (I'm thinking Rockies/west).

2. A good job market for fitness and health related positions. I'd like to follow my dreams of being a personal trainer/yoga instructor/massage therapist.

3. High-speed internet. No dialup, no wireless cards, no satellite. I've lived most of my life with that stuff and after switching over, I never want to go back!

What place would be right for me?

Thanks!
Griffin

The internet connection is terrible in a lot of the country. I'd say the best places in the country for Internet would be urban areas. According to this website:

A Map of Who's Got the Best (And Worst) Internet Connections in America

Supposedly Washington has the town with the highest internet speed, and the entire state seems to do good on average there. Washington has some of the best mountains in the mainland, with a lot of outdoor activities. Any part of the entire state might suit you.

It seems like you have this poster have a lot in common.

But I'll give you the same advice that I gave her, and recommend Petaluma, California. It's relatively inexpensive (by California standards). Petaluma is under a half hour's drive away from Napa, Santa Rosa, and the ocean. You'd be about an hour away from downtown San Francisco, and only couple hours from the Sierras.

Fort Collins, Colorado would be a good option.
