You’re not really looking to buy or relocate there, are you? Is this for some kind of school project? Or a list for what someone else euphemistically called urban travelers?

I agree. Being the state capital it has all kinds of state workers plus a group working in the tourist trade, service folks. There is money there and the 'Santa Fe Lifestyle', the opera and the arts implies wealth but that is just a part of the whole picture.

Never been there, but I hear that Atherton Cali. is a small town in the Bay area of fabulous wealth.

As to the Hamptons, there are still middle and working class people living there year-round despite the influx of summer wealth and the waterfront mansions -- many of which are only inhabited in season.

Also there are some very wealthy towns west of the Hudson in New Jersey like Short Hills and Alpine --places where starter homes are in the seven figures.

It is indeed. It doesn't even have a single commercial building within its limits; commerce is something one does in Menlo Park or Palo Alto.

Fisher Island, Florida is America's wealthiest zip code. It's a census designated place in MiamiDade County that is a private island, and only accessible to residents + registered visitors & workers by ferry.

Palos Verdes estates, Ca Trump has a golf course here overlooking 300 ft cliffs over the Pacific ocean. The best part is it's in the heart of Los Angeles county it's a truly gorgeous gem that you won't even know is there. The top of the peninsula raises over 1100 ft you can see all of the LA basin, Malibu, all the Mountains, and Catalina island looks unreal on some days. it's also the 6th wealthiest place in California first in SoCal.

San Marino, CA in the San Gabriel Valley area of Los Angeles winch is the real Chinese Beverly hills IMO Arcadia, and South Pasadena are up there as well. It also goes against the misconception that all wealthy live on the westside every part of town has it's own wealthy area.

La Cañada flintridge, Ca a very nice forested city in the Foothills of the San Gabriel mtns. Dead center of Los Angeles county with great views of the city you can see the entire basin from many places here.

Manhattan Beach, CA my favorite beach town none of the homes here are on more than a quarter acre, but are 3 stories with the most creative design's and rolling hills. It's clean, and in the south Bay of Los Angeles as well.

Hermosa Beach, Ca same as Manhattan Beach they border each other same vibe. Just what you'd imagine for a southern California beach town freindly relaxed people just wealthy and somehow managed to also have a density of 10k ppsm.

Coto De Caza, Ca the very wealthy South Orange county neighborhood on the edge of the Santa Ana mtns.

Honorable mentions anyone moving to the hills in Irvine apparently the homes they are constructing are insane.

Newport coast is definitely super up there as well.
