Well, I picked all California cities, Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Diego, and other (where I live) and then I also picked Portland and figured they could just merge with California. I picked California just because I figure if we are all in tact we could just form our own little nation and continue on
I would never want this to happen though, I like all of you folks east of the CA border! Just thought this would be best economically for the scenario.
Well, I can't save five because the poll isn't multiple choice, so I'll try to save them all, and not vote.

I'd have to know what the doomsday scenario is, first. If the cities are being attacked one by one, I'd take the first five being attacked (because there is no moral way to choose the residents of one city over another).
If they are being attacked all at once, I suppose you would have to consider whether it was wiser to save five cities that are geographically close and that will have mild weather so that the people have a reasonable chance of continuing to survive without power.
If the scenario involves a contagious disease, you would probably want to choose five cities that are as far apart as possible.
If Godzilla is attacking, by all menas we must save Scranton!!!! Becuase I've already told you that Scranton is the hero that saves the Earth.
What do you people not understand about the "do not take the population in to consideration".
It's an impossible request. A city is it's residents. Buildings, history, all that clap trap are just a few pieces of a skeleton. A population is what makes a city a living entity. They are the brain, the heart, the soul.
I would elect to save ANY city in America that was in danger. Why take the doomsday attitude and ask that we pick just five?
Why not start a similar thread about another country? I'll be happy to pick in any of them.
