Cleveland historically was : Forest City
more recently Rock N Roll City/capital whatever the local travel association wants to use
and some other colloquial phrases from good to bad
Mistake on the Lake
North Coast

Some cities derived names from chief industries now since departed and not really applicable:
Akron - Rubber City
Toledo - Glass City

This isn't a nickname but it still always cracks me up. This is a football chant from Norfolk, VA. Think about it:

WE DON'T DRINK.
WE DON'T SMOKE.
NORFOLK! NORFOLK!

Sorry if some of these have already been named:

Dallas - The Big D ("I'm going to the Big D this weekend.") What's that country song?

MARK CHESNUTT LYRICS - Goin' Through The Big D

Birmingham, AL - the Salty Ham

Gulfport, MS - Redneck Riviera

Burnet, TX - It's BURN it, durn it, can't you learn it?

Dallas/Fort Worth - the Metroplex

San Antonio - San Antone, River City

Texarkana - Twice as Nice

Washington, DC - Hollywood for Ugly People (I love that one)
I think Panama City Beach, FL was the redneck Rivera.

Some locals use it: emeraldcitycomiccon.com

And I thought the Redneck Riviera was Mobile Bay, and that Minneapolis called itself "the Minneapple" because it's smaller than the Big Apple.

Regarding the nickname 'Queen City': https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Queen_City

Queen City is a term which is often used to describe a city which is the largest city in a country, state, province, or territory, but which is not the capital. For example the city of Burlington, Vermont, is larger than the state's Capital (Montpelier). Some cities which fit this description are rarely referred to as "queen cities," while for others it has become commonplace to speak of them by this nickname.

You could also add Pittsburgh - Steel City to your list. Other nicknames for Pittsburgh Smoky City and Hell with the Lid Off (both now obsolete as well)
